The shortlist for the 2016 IDEA Awards has just been announced – and true to form our country’s leading interior designers and architects take the lead when it comes to creating innovative, original and beautifully designed homes in which we would all like to live. Here’s our own shortlist of five homes not featured in Est before now.

Arent & Pyke’s Double Bay House captures the personality of the young family that live here with communication and flow essential to the design of this three storey home.




Amber Road’s Deco House celebrates the homes art deco heritage through the use of colour rather than form with ochre and teal anchoring the overall scheme.


The Little O’Grady Street project represents a future form for the modern Australian family home by designers Ha Architects.
