Regular readers of est will know that we have a certain sweet spot when it comes to art in the home. Whether as part of an interior profile or a local artist discovery, we believe that art is an opportunity to infuse more personality and character to a space – and like good design, should be an approachable rather than intimidating process.
Lucky for us it’s a view shared by our friends at Otomys Art and Studio Tate, and in putting our heads together we’re pleased to invite you to join us for ‘The Art of Interiors’ on Wednesday October 11, where we’ll explore the ways art and interior design connect.
Hannah Abbott of Otomys and Alex Hopkins from Studio Tate will take us through their recent collaboration on ‘Green Gables’, a Mt Martha home given an invigorating renewal through design by Studio Tate and art curated by Otomys. We’ll talk with Hannah and Alex about their inspiration for the project, considerations for selecting art for residential interiors and advice for considering art in the context of interior architecture.
With the perfect backdrop of Otomys Gallery in Richmond, we’ve also teamed up with Cult to complement the artwork on show with handpicked furnishings and design objects. So whether you’re wanting to get an insight to selecting art for interiors, intrigued by the process of collaboration or simply just love celebrating local artists with a glass of something bubbly (and who doesn’t?), join us.
UPDATE: Due to an overwhelming response, all guest spots for this event have been filled. To add your name to the waitlist, please RSVP via email below.
Artists featured in this striking Mt Martha home will be on display as well as a broader collection curated by Otomys. Mixing styles, materials and forms, Green Gables is a beautiful example of how artwork can truly elevate residential spaces.
