The haunting works of Melbourne based artist, Sophia Szilagyi, were recently introduced to us by our friend Megan Dicks at Otomys. We were captivated instantly by both Sophia’s imagination and interpretation of the wonders of nature. Working predominantly in digital print making, Sophia has just closed an exhibition at Beaver Gallery in Canberra and will be opening an exhibition at Turner Galleries in Perth on the 28th of June.

Seemingly focused upon the wonder and the terror of nature, and its frightening beauty, Sophia’s work ‘Furthest Shining” certainly has our imagination piqued with a sense of both the foreboding and endless possibility.
