Experience The Stella Collective’s latest bar and eatery Blacksmith Provedore, located in regional Lake Mulwala.
The Stella Collective have brought a refreshing wave of modernity to the regional town of Mulwala in New South Wales. Sitting on the banks of the lake, Blacksmith offers an assortment of local wines and fresh produce in a relaxed atmosphere, which pay homage to Lake Mulwala’s long-standing reputation of the quintessential Australian getaway.
Passionately connected to her hometown, owner Liz Bayles envisioned creating a space that successfully married Mulwala’s quaint country aura alongside more contemporary accents.

From the main street Blacksmith Provedore appears to be a humble white pavilion and blends with the location’s existing mid-century motels, however, on closer inspection the pavilion reveals timber beams which lead visitors down to the entry where subtle linear panelling lines the facade. Contrasting with black aluminium window frames and copper lights, the exterior showcases a modern simplicity which then reveals a warm, textured and layered aesthetic interior. The Stella Collective’s rich inspiration derives from Spain and Italy and sits in contrast alongside the strong, clean lines taken from Los Angeles.
Inside, dry pressed brick, intricately-designed tiles from the floor to ceiling, walnut timbers and accents of brass, perfectly marry with the earthy palette of nudes, browns and butter-soft yellow throughout. Design by Them’s Piper bar stools in clean white, break up the bar area while ensuring the surrounding lush foliage and white onyx stone create design focal points.

The Court II by Allied Maker illuminates the venue’s modest entrance

Douglas and Bec’s Arch Pendant oozes contemporary class, drawing guests attention to the locally sourced wine and beer bar.

Complemented by a soft terracotta wall, the fireplace sits centre stage to create a sense of homeliness and invites guests in Jardan’s Harvest armchair and enjoy a glass of wine during Mulwala’s colder months. An earnestly restored vintage Brazilian cheese cabinet provides the perfect location for Blacksmith Provedore’s extensive range of fresh cheeses, cured meats and deli goods. A layered approach of differing tones and textures continues into the bathrooms, where black-tiled basins meet a generous slab of gold-veined stone and accents of copper offer an effortless finishing touch.
Devising a new standard for hospitality in rural areas of Australia, Blacksmith Provedore by The Stella Collective embraces the heritage of both the past and present of the regional town it calls home. Bringing something new and exciting to Lake Mulwala, Blacksmith Provedore is a warm and inviting space built to form everlasting holiday memories.
