A standout feature of the pavilion is the main beach bar, with high seating, white umbrellas and expansive ocean views. Built for the Queensland climate, the lower floor of the building has been constructed to accommodate storms, with removable bi-fold glazing.
Pale pink and brass accents appear throughout while colourful terrazzo tabletops, mismatched diningware and obscure artwork create a design that is both eclectic yet endearing. As part of Alexander & CO.’s new series of low-cost material fit-out projects, Alexander & CO. have maintained the existing external materials to maximise efficiency and in turn reduce wastage. This is also evident through the incorporation of sustainable materials and low VOC fabrics.
