In this weeks Colour Chronicles by Bauwerk Paint we take a colour guided tour through an Edwardian home in the Melbourne bayside suburb of Elwood. Here a team of design professionals came together to collaborate on remodelling a once traditional family home into a contemporary house for modern day life. Architect Kathryn Robson of Robson Rak Architects and interior designer Susie Cohen of Made by Cohen, worked with their client and the homes owner, interior stylist Danika Rehfisch, to create a four bedroom home that is both stylish and fun.
Restful grey walls in the ‘deconstructed formal’ living room are bought to life gently with an injection of green in the furnishings, while a vibrant green carpet used in the upstairs loft adds an extra ‘kick’ and sense of play to the light bright vibrant space.
For this family home colour creates energy in rooms where it is welcome – and a soothing sense of calm to those rooms that are used for rest.
