Danish Design at the House is a must-see exhibition for lovers contemporary Danish design. The exhibition showcases products from some of our favourite Scandinavian brands such as Bang & Olufsen, Fritz Hansen, Georg Jensen, HAY, Lightyears, LINDBERG, Louis Poulsen and Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen. The collection will grace Jørn Utzon’s deep bay windows that border the Western Foyer of the Opera House from Friday 25 October to Monday 11th November 2013.
Coinciding with the 40th Anniversary celebration of the Sydney Opera House, the exhibition is an exciting collaborative venture, co-curated by Australian architect Gerard Reinmuth and Danish architect Karen Kjærgaard.
The Royal Couple Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary officially opened the event on Friday 25 October at an exclusive event hosted by the Danish Agency for Culture, the Opera House and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The decidedly Danish affair saw Danish expats, the Australian retail industry and design enthusiasts rub shoulders with not only Royalty but the rising stars of the Danish design, craft, architecture and art industry.
Danish Design at the House is on public display at the Opera House until Monday 11th November 2013.
