Join the Est team and The R.E.A.L Store for an intimate dinner in Woolloomooloo, Sydney, to celebrate the creativity, innovation, and sustainability of Design for Social Impact.
If you share our collective belief that the design industry can do better, that we should all be supporting emerging and established designers and social entrepreneurs fuelled by the passion and creativity to drive change across the globe – then join us to celebrate them! We want to bring together designers, entrepreneurs and consumers who consider design as both a source of beauty and as an agent for change.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
The Design for Social Impact initiative is the brainchild of Virginia Bruce, founder of The R.E.A.L. Store and CEO of social enterprise Hands That Shape Humanity. Invited by the United Nations ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative to join the UN roster to continue development in Social Impact Investment, Virginia’s vision is to create a global platform for Australian creatives & social entrepreneurs looking to build brands for social impact.
Editor-in-Chief of Est Magazine, Sian MacPherson, leads the charge in sharing a uniquely Australian sense of style with the world. Committed to unearthing and sharing the work of emerging and established designers by connecting them to a global audience, Est has built a reputation as a trusted resource for inspiration and design innovation.
Help us to continue to develop the work of The REAL Foundation and the 2014 REAL IMPACT UNSW COFA Design Graduate Mentor Program in nurturing the next generation of “Impact Designers”.
Projects recently completed by graduates of the 2014 program will be on display for viewing on the night of the dinner, with a silent auction of artworks by local acclaimed Sydney artists and designer products from The REAL Store to assist in raising funds for the program.
Pooling the resources and the local Woolloomooloo community to design an occasion that will inspire guests visually, emotionally and gastronomically, the evening will entail;
- Exhibition, drinks and canapé’s at The REAL Store gallery starting at 6.30pm.
- 2-course sustainable gourmet dinner & wine designed by local chef Raymond Lim (co-owner of ‘John Montagu‘) will be staged at Gentle Deer, the neighbouring sustainable brand experts, 2 doors up.
- Special address by Simone Cipriani (United Nations Ethical Fashion Initiative)
- Panel discussion and Q&A with Australian Designers who are leaders in this space hosted by Virginia Bruce, CEO of the REAL Group and Sian MacPherson (Editor-in-Chief of EST Magazine).
