When Katie Jordan, our latest Est contributor to join the family, shared with us some of her latest styling work in NYC we knew she was just the girl for Est. Not only do we love Kate’s beautiful aesthetic, we love the work of her clever friends too – particularly designer Farrah Sit.
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Farrah has spent the years since graduation having worked for the design houses of Calvin Klein Home, Vera Wang and Kim Seybert on their respective home decor collections. The years spent working for these major design houses brought Farrah to the realisation that it was time to get her hands dirty again and get back to the coal face of design. In throwing herself into the design process, Sarah narrowed her focus on creating beautiful, functional objects using fair and sustainable production processes, honouring craftsmanship and the integrity of traditional methods of design.
With Farrah’s designs appearing at London Design Week, New York Design Week and American Design Club/Sight Unseen’s NoHo Next showcase, the designer has recently released her own line of beautifully designed pieces that were presented at last years New York Gift fair and which now sees her creations stocked and sold around the world.
The look book that Farrah has created with stylist Kate Jordan and photographer Nicole Franzen captures perfectly the integrity and the inherent quality of her well considered designs.
