We journey to the Balearic island of Menorca to explore one of its newest luxury stays; The Finca Es Bec d’Aguila.
Paris-based architecture and interior design studio Atelier du Pont have led a number of award-winning international projects, from Sardinia to Morocco, Luxembourg and Dubai. Their latest venture landed them in the Mediterranean, on the serene island of Menorca, with the Finca Es Bec d’Aguila hotel.
Where holidayers escape the crowds of Ibiza and Mallorca, Menorca offers visitors the chance to experience second-to-none cuisine and coastline. The Finca Es Bec d’Aguila is a welcome addition to the island’s high-profile escapes, designed by Atelier Du Pont as ‘somewhere between a hotel and a home’.
Sitting high up in the hillside, visitors can enjoy the conviviality of a holiday home with the features of a boutique hotel including a chef, yoga, massage and pottery. Best of all, the Finca Es Bec d’Aguila offers a unique opportunity to experience Menorca’s local produce, architecture and history in a fully serviced rental.

Menorca is a postcard destination of golden shores stretching for miles on end, undulating terrain and white-washed villages. Looking out across Menorca’s bountiful landscape, The Finca Es Bec d’Aguila is a culmination of what the island is renowned for, with the addition of Atelier du Pont’s expert design hand.
The design studio created this authentic stay through considered treatment of the existing structure. In particular, they prioritised local, natural materials and building methods; dry stone walls, marès stone, white and coloured lime, terracotta, tiled floors and linen soft furnishings. Original vaulted ceilings echo the traditional architecture and interiors of the island.
While sticking to the island’s traditional palette for the exterior, Atelier du Pont were unafraid to use colour internally, incorporating a soft and textured colour palette throughout. The studio found balance between rustic design and more opulent finishes through their colour and texture play, ranging from the peachy pinks to deep bluestone tones. A mix of objects from England, France, Denmark and Spain create an eclectic space that still remains rich in its Menorcan influences.

Atelier du Pont prioritised areas for guests to relax, while feeling completely at home. Be it by the pool on a custom daybed, through culinary treats from the nearby farmland, or in a yoga session or even a pottery class – they’ve considered it all. The design team also took advantage of spaces to dine and unwind outdoors on warm Menorcan evenings.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable spell in the Mediterranean, we’ve found you just the spot. The Finca Es Bec d’Aguila is ready for you to slow down and immerse yourself Menorca, it’s laid-back character and authentic, aesthetic charm.
