This hardworking kitchen typifies modern Australian design through a monochromatic colour palette warmed with accents of timber. Lane & Grove specified integrated Bosch series 8 appliances in the kitchen for their quality and streamlined aesthetic. “The glossy black Bosch appliances disappear into the background within the black-stained oak joinery in the kitchen, decluttering surfaces and focussing attention on the more natural qualities of the space,” co-founder Margot Lane says.
The Bosch series 8 pyrolytic built-in oven and Bosch series 8 built-in compact oven with microwave are conveniently stacked in a tower formation as part of the cabinetry. The Bosch series 8 80cm induction cooktop with PerfectFry seamlessly integrates into the Carrara marble benchtop and the contemporary black finish has a cohesive dialogue with the matt black kitchen sink and tap while the black fixtures and appliances contrast with the white stone, creating visual interest throughout the space. “The owners are avid cooks and entertainers, so they prioritised good quality appliances to ensure the best result for both longevity and appearance,” adds co-founder Deborah Quigley.

An integral part of ensuring the refined yet contemporary aesthetic throughout this Queensland home was selecting superior appliances. Luckily, this was a seamless decision for CJH Studio co-founder and designer Cassie James-Herrick as the client had previously owned Bosch appliances and was keen to enjoy them in their new home too. “The client had always found their Bosch appliances well-performing and reliable,” CJH Studio director Cassie James-Herrick says. The kitchen features a Bosch Oven, alongside a Bosch Series 6 Rangehood and Bosch Series 8 Dishwasher.
The Bosch Oven soon became a central focal point in the kitchen. “The oven was compact, aesthetically streamlined and minimal, pyrolytic and happily within budget,” Cassie says. The oven even reflected the circular, curved motives throughout the home. “The central circular dial was also a simple touch but tied in with the curves in our design elsewhere really well”.

Benn + Penna have carefully preserved this existing worker’s cottage through an unassuming rear concrete addition that establishes a connection with the garden. Each space is pared-back and the new addition is defined by a truncated ceiling vault and skylight above it, subtly marking the different zones without the interruption of solid walls.
In terms of integrated appliances in the new kitchen, a Bosch oven with microwave, and warming drawer were all specified for their low energy rating. The Bosch oven is fitted with quadruple-glazed CoolTouch doors, designed to keep the heat in while providing a safe-to-touch door on the outside.

Anna Skermer, co-founder of Pipkorn & Kilpatrick believes that the two most important aspects of a kitchen are natural light and a design that prioritises function and promotes togetherness. “The kitchen should always be a ‘coming together’ place, not one person stowed away on their own,” says Anna.
The Bendigo Street kitchen showcases a Bosch Series 8 oven, Bosch Series 4 integrated dishwasher, and Bosch Series 6 natural gas cooktop within the light-filled kitchen space. “The premium Bosch Series 8 products are great value for innovation and quality. However, their base-level appliances are high-performing and long-lasting,” Anna explains. In addition, to combat the previous home’s lack of storage, Pipkorn Kilpatrick went against the grain of the typical under-counter oven placement, instead tucking the oven into the corner and making way for wider drawers.

YSG founder and director Yasmine Ghoniem’s former Bondi apartment is an authentic reflection of her creativity, brimming with storied textiles and sentimental mementos. As an avid entertainer, Yasmine specified a Bosch oven and 60cm built-in oven in stainless steel within her kitchen. “The zing of the metal surfaces accentuates the mellow hues in the kitchen, like a circuit breaker,” Yasmine explains. “Their shimmer draws the eye towards zones, so you notice intricate surrounding elements like the painted floor”.
Aesthetics aside, the appliances needed to also be hardworking and reliable. The Bosch gas cooktop features FlameSelect; nine defined power levels for precise flame adjustment. “Tom and I work long days, so when we get home, we want an oven that heats up quickly and maintains a consistent temperature and a cooktop that provides perfectly even heat distribution for pots and pans.”
