We came across the beautiful collection of unique, sustainably produced, range of handmade homewares and accessories from UK based company, Chocolate Creative, and we were instantly taken with Margarita Lorenzo’s creative vision.
Coupled with a passion for great design and sustainable practices, and it has to be said, a very helpful mum who is only too happy to help her creative daughter in her pursuits, Margarita Lorenzo’s spanish heritage clearly shapes her visual aesthetic.
Designing a collection that includes cushions, prints, door knobs, tea light holders and tea towels amongst others, Margarita takes her inspiration from the traditional crafts of her native Spain and her adopted home of England. Each product is either hand made by Margarita, or her mother, or local craft people that have been sought out to help create her vision.
The recently released Casas collection, is based upon a geometric design inspired by the traditional Spanish old houses and the hydraulic tiles, while the English Romantic collection draws on the romance and beauty of the English countryside.
We particularly love the old fashioned landscapes, inspired by a series of much loved collection of vintage paintings and photographs digitally printed onto cushions – that can turn your sofa into a work of art! The cushions perfectly compliment the door knobs – you may remember seeing them here when we profiled artist Sophia Szilagyi who used Margarita’s image to show her works in a vignette.
