A considered approach to timeless design and a progressive vision for sustainability underpins Spanish interior and industrial designer Francesc Rifé’s collaboration with renowned outdoor furniture brand OISIDE.
A prolific and respected designer, Francesc founded his Barcelona-based studio in 1994, influenced by minimalism and creating work based on material honesty, spatial order and geometric proportion. OISIDE, a family-owned business from Valencia were drawn to the inherently timeless narrative that defines the studio’s work and established an easy connection with a shared view to evolve quality outdoor furniture to better orient it towards modern life.

The cohesive collaboration allows both to explore their shared vision to create minimalist, quality outdoor furniture with integrity. “We deeply believe that creating outdoor furniture that will stand the test of time, with durable materials and construction, is the only reasonable and sustainable way forward,” Francesc says.

Francesc has produced three collections for OISIDE: Beam, Penda and Drums. Beam is a minimal architectural collection in ‘Iroko’ African Teak, striking a balance between structured framing and generous cushioning. Penda is a sophisticated and beautifully resolved collection with mixed materiality of aluminium, Iroko teak and upholstery with a hand-woven corded backing structure, while Drums is a series of multi-use coffee and side tables with strong geometric forms and a range of colours and finishes, including aluminium, Iroko timber and porcelain with powder coated bases.
