We were in two minds about whether or not to show this Open House feature today as we were a little worried that you might think we only have eyes for Melbourne (or one eye at the very least!) But in the end this Hecker Guthrie designed refurb of a c1890 Victorian home in Armadale convinced us that we could not not share it with you. It did also cross our mind too that a few of our friends may not be so happy that we have shared this little gem should it lead to more competition on auction day.
Located just a few blocks away from some of our favourite local haunts (Toorak Cellars wine bar for a Friday night catchup or an early morning coffee meeting, Rose Street Trading for Bemboka blankets and gifts for mum, and Rouge cafe for the best chicken sandwiches), this 2 storey, four bedroom home should not be judged based on first appearances from the front gate. Coming across initially as a fusty old dame, the true identity of this family home is revealed as soon as you step through the front door and into a stylish, contemporary space that would definitely feature on the pages of Est Magazine. American oak cabinetry, steel framed windows, marble floored bathrooms and bespoke pendant lighting make for a truly sophisticated designer home that you can literally move right on into without having to change a thing.
Here the owners have done all the work for you – how very thoughtful of them don’t you think? For more information see here >>>>>>
