retouched 20110805 DohertyLynch S1 053Currently our studio is focused on all things Parisian as we are designing a French restaurant and bar in Melbourne. So we thought we would share with you some of our favourite design, fashion and tips if you are visiting Paris or dreaming about visiting.

    FASHION

Sonia Rykiel’s new shop in Saint Germain designed by Thomas Lenthal and Andre Saraiva. We love the lips pencil and eyes custom carpet.

Situated near the Champs-Élysées is the Yves Saint Laurent muse where part of his studio has been left in-tact for Parisians to enjoy. The Pierre Cardin Musee is also a must see with some of the designers most emblematic pieces on display.

    EAT

You may be familiar with Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. On my last trip to Paris I was fortunate to  eat at the restaurant he designed called Le Sergent Recruteur on the Ile-St-Louis. On a side note I saw his Réaction Poétique tables for Cassina at Cult Furniture last week. They are inspired by the organic shapes of Le Corbusier’s architecture.

Cedric Naudon’s success with Jaime Hayon and Le Sergent Recruteur restaurant has lead him to create a street concept for food and design where he has purchased thirty-six properties later on the Rues de Vertbois, Notre-Dame de Nazareth and Volta are undergoing a transformation into a brand-new shopping and eating district called La Jeune rue. He will be working with international designers like Tom Dixon.

His vision is to create a street with a range of food and design experiences such as a tapas bar, a covered market, a grocery store, an oyster bar, a butcher and a baker.

Les Bains is a hotel, restaurant, bar and club designed by Tristan Auer and Denis Montel and is a must see for its design extravagance.

Stephane Parmentier, former designer for fashion houses Lanvin, Leger and Lagerfeld now has his own Interior Design and Architecture studio. He has a trained eye for beautiful detail and a great ability to piece together styles from different periods of design.
