Set in lush gardens with a generous verandah, Park House by Georgina Jeffries invites playful features against heritage aspects.
Park House takes form within a solid brick Edwardian home in Melbourne’s east that ‘lacked personality’. It was no match for the client, a creative couple with two young children and a little sausage dog, Audrey, with whom Georgina fell in love. As such, the contemporary home invites playful elements, connecting the modern family within the heritage home.

Interior designer Georgina Jeffries set out to change the interior dialogue by elevating the heritage details with new herringbone timber parquetry and patterned marble flooring. A palette of muted and warm tones are a ‘calm’ base, allowing Georgina to inject bright colours, tactile materiality, and quirky patterns throughout the garden home. “The front four rooms are all generous in proportion and painted in different hues of greens, blues and pinks,” she says. “Our clients weren’t afraid of colour, and I think heritage homes with high ceilings and large features can be transformed through colour.”
The kitchen had a simple brief to connect with the garden and become an open space that catered to the family. Calling on the client’s English childhood, Georgina designed a classic shaker kitchen painted in a soft, sage green. Georgina re-configured the layout, adding a built-in banquette for the growing family and their future dinner parties.

“Our clients at Park House gave us a lot of freedom. Once we began the design process, we quickly learned that they love colour, pattern, quality craftsmanship and quirky details – just like us.”

The dining space features the No 811 Hoffman Chairs, De La Espada Together Extending Table and the Gubi Multilite Pendant.
The final touch was the powder room decorated with cloud wallpaper, emphasised by a hinged mirror that reflects the clouds at all angles. “I like to have a little element of surprise in at least one room,” Georgina says. “The couple says this space always brings a smile.”
Park House is a series of reveals that inspire creativity and fun — perfect for an artistic family in Melbourne’s leafy suburbs.

Taking form within a grand Edwardian residence, the visitors are first greeted by a European-inspired hallway, which opens out to a large kitchen, dining, and living space. Notable pieces in the hallway include the De La Espada Settle Bench and Gubi F.A.33 Rectangular Mirror.
“A powder room is always a space in the house where you can be brave. We always strive to create classic spaces, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be fun.”
