The Carl Hansen & Søn CH23 Chair was one of the first chairs Hans J. Wegner designed for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1950. The first masterpieces he created were not only unique, but also set new standards for modern furniture design with their lightness, artistic expression and ergonomic forms. Although the CH23 chair may appear uncomplicated at first glance, it incorporates many fine, sophisticated details, among them the elegant cruciform cover caps in the backrest, a unique hand-woven seat and backward arching rear legs that ensure optimal stability.
