The Dirk Van Der Kooij Helm Light is a belted sphere grown additively from syrupy ribbons of molten, recycled plastic. Leaves of cocooning?3D printed bands cradle their fiery core, overlapping perpendicularly to encourage crystalline light refraction. When passing through the corrugated structure, light breaks, softens, and multiplies into an engulfing spread.
