The Egg Designs Blessing Coffee Table is a modern hand carved & Shou Sugi Ban black table that is part of the Blessing collection. It is designed by Egg Designs and manufactured in South Africa.
The top is African Mahogany which is finished in the ancient Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban. It is burned which creates a black textured surface with a beautiful sheen. The crackled surface almost has a blistered appearance and no 2 tops will be the same.
The legs are hand chiseled and have a burnished, ebonized finish. The combination of the two blackening techniques results in a brutalist styles table with a beautiful texture and sheen.
