Emily Belle Ellis is a Sydney based Ceramicist and Object Designer. After studying at UNSW Art and Design focusing on Object design, it was through projects that focussed on three dimensional form that Emily discovered and connected with clay and started utilising it as a primary material. Exploring hand building techniques as a way to evoke sculptural tableware and objects, her work focuses on organic shape and intricate clay surface texture to create pieces that almost bleed into their surrounds. The fluidity of form acts as a way to integrate pieces into our lives through daily rituals and through tactile connections.
