Though related in appearance to Beni Ourains, the Halcyon Lake Moroccan Beni M’rirt 11, has distinctive features. These richly toned rugs have a different knot and a thinner wool yarn; where the new versions tend to be more densely woven with a medium pile. With a sumptuous texture and often larger in scale than Beni Ourains, whether vintage or new Beni M’rirt are always made by hand according to traditional Berber weaving techniques.
