The minimal Obumex x John Pawson kitchen laid at the dawn of a revolution in 1996, but even today still it remains a grand success. So much so, it inspired Obumex and John Pawson to renew their collaboration. The new kitchen draws on the same refined, pared back architectural language of its predecessor, but also introduces important novel elements. The design continues on the idea of composing a kitchen from a series of elements that are more like furniture than conventional kitchen components ? elements that, while consummately addressing the functional requirements of food preparation, also generate an atmospheric and adaptable living space, where cooking and coming together to spend quality time simply feel good.
