Samuel Condon is an Australian artist practising his art in Paris. His modes of creation revolve around painting and drawing, subjects vary but the core theme throughout his work is an investigation into art history, museum collections and their artistic objects. Ranging from renditions of iconic Australian history, French classical scenes and Napoleonic portraits, this impressionist infused artist follows the traditional path of looking to the classics for inspiration and adding a touch of contemporary colour into the mix. Samuel has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Victoria College of the Arts majoring in drawing, Master of fine arts from RMIT, undertook 3 years part-time study in Master of art Curatorship at The University of Melbourne. He is a finalist in several major art prizes including the Archibald prize, salon Des refuses, Rick Amor drawing prize and the Brett Whiteley travelling art scholarship. His works are held in numerous major public art collections in Australia.
