This inner city warehouse in Regent St, Melbourne has recently been converted into a three level home by Techne Architects. Successfully promoting the open nature of the newly subdivided warehouse space, the original features including steel windows, exposed trusses and metal staircases have been left as a visual reminder and reference to the buildings former life – while also forming the backbone for the homes ‘loft aesthetic’.

The open plan living allows for greater interaction throughout the home while also ensuring light flows throughout the building. Exposed black beams, black steel framed windows and industrial style metal staircases add strength and solidarity to the home and beautifully contrast against the otherwise neutral palette.
