As soon as we mounted the stairs and set foot inside the sleekly sophisticated, newly opened showroom for Italian stone producer, Salvatori, we became instantly entranced by the tactile walls and stunning stone details lining the charcoal painted walls. Within minutes of meeting Sydney showroom manager, Lena Nash, we found ourselves running our fingertips across the walls in a dream like trance making noises like a pair of fan girls at a One Direction concert (of course in our case we were oohing and ahhing over honed stone – not Harry).
Located just above the Boffi studio and showroom in Liverpool street, Darlinghurst, this is the Italian manufacturers first outpost in the southern hemisphere. Showcasing the Salvatori range of stone suitable for walls and floors along with bathroom products in the form of stone bathtubs, basins and shower trays, the new Antipodean outpost also houses the ‘home’ collection consisting of tables, mirrors, lighting and bathroom accessories.
While the showroom features stone clad walls in array of textures and tones, it was the exclusively produced, Lithoverde finish that caught our eye for its design ingenuity. Made almost entirely from off-cuts Salvatori’s unique Lithoverde range combines marble off cuts (99% to be exact) with a natural resin acting as a binder to holding the pieces together.
