Kitchen | Summer House by Judith Benzer

The Look

The Summer House by Judith Benzer is impressive in its scale and simplicity. Consisting of an underground ferroconcrete cellar and a two-storey residence, the building looks unobtrusive and sculptural in the open field. Windows and doors have been carefully placed to take advantage of the countryside view. They can also be cleverly concealed with large, folding shutters that sit flush to the building. The kitchen lies at the centre of the minimalist interiors, boasting simple clean lines and polished black joinery. Throughout, Judith Benzer has ensured a robust material palette of concrete flooring, untreated timber paneling and steel.
