Launching The Voracity in 2010, Brooklyn based photographer Anna Williams began the creative visual project as a way of exploring themes of hunger, consumption and beauty through a wide range of styles and technique. A collaborative project involving a wide range of artists, stylists and designers, sees this stunning publication push and develop on Anna’s personal vision of the meaning of each of these three themes.
Having moved from Richmond, Virginia to New York on the advice of her university professor to ‘get busy assisting’, Anna cut her teeth assisting some of the cities greatest commercial photographers by the likes of Stephen Lewis and Bill Abranowicz. This talented photographer has clearly been resourceful from the get go, working from her tiny East Village bathroom cum darkroom to then go on and land her own big name clients such as Martha Stewart Living, Real Simple, O Magazine, Williams-Sonoma to name a few.
Melding commercial photography with artistic license, Anna’s work appears to straddle both worlds seamlessly.
