The White 1921 Hotel. For us the mere mention of the name conjures up just the sort of sublime minimalist haven we dream about escaping to. The first of its kind for iconic luxury mother-brand LVMH, the 8 rooms and suites of White 1921 have been designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte and can be found tucked away in Place des Lices, St Tropez.
In his approach to this project, Wilmotte sought first to build a relationship between the ground floor and the external landscaped courtyard by creating an outdoor area divided into two rooms. You will find oversized plump sofas sheltered beneath umbrellas and a pergola while the outdoor bar area acts as the centrepiece with its backlit, etched glass facade.
Purity is the common theme and is expressed through the materials used and of course the liberal use of white throughout the hotel.
