When the founders of Workstead design firm, Stefanie Brechbuehler and Robert Andrew Highsmith asked fellow graduate of the RISD Architecture program, Ryan Mahoney to join them in 2010, the company was clearly destined for bigger things. With offices in Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley, Workstead focuses on architectural and interior design, lighting, furniture, and exhibitions using a palette that is both strong and opulent but simple and efficient at the same time.
This home in Brooklyn is the perfect summation of their aesthetic. From the lightning to the door hardware and the use of timber and its organic forms, the design team at Workstead are clearly masters of refinement and understated luxe.
